LOCATION
High Peak Meadow, 1317 Platte Clove Road, Elka Park, NY 12427
DIRECTIONS
If you’re coming from NYC, the best way to get to the mountain top is to take Exit 21 off the thruway. Follow 23A towards Tannersville. Take a left at the light in Tannersville and follow that road to the address. Taking Exit 20 is a very steep drive - be cautious!
Near the entrance to the property, you will see a red barn at the side of the road.
If you approach with the red barn on your right side, drive past it and look for a NTSH sign on the right side of the road.
If you’re approaching and see the red barn ahead on your left side, look for the NTSH sign before the barn on the left side of the road.
In both cases, once you see the NTSH sign, turn into the small entrance and follow the path (which will have markers) down towards the creek.
CAR INFO
In order to get to the campsite you must cross a creek, which requires an SUV or similar clearance vehicle–about 7 inches clearance is advised. If your vehicle does not have this clearance you can park in the clearing before the creek and use the walkie-talkies available to speak to a volunteer who will be standing by to pick you and your gear up!

Early Entry
Would you like to join us during setup to lend a hand and spend some more time in nature? Please do! Early entrance is available from noon on Wednesday 7/16.
MEALS
Select meals are provided - we will be grilling Thursday evening, cooking up a Thai curry on Friday night, a stunning chickpea stew on Saturday night, and serving overnight oats on Sunday morning. Bring food for snacks, breakfast and/or lunch in between main meals. Please be conscious of food waste. We almost always need less than we think. Where possible, coordinate with others to share food supplies and minimize excess. Please bring your own reusable cup, bottle, plate & utensils
WATER
There is no potable water at the campsite - we will be providing drinking water for the weekend. For washing, teeth brushing, etc., please bring a small, personal supply of water.
BATHROOM & SHOWERS
There are no facilities on site. There will be 2 port-a-potties available over the weekend and the stream nearby is perfect for a cleansing dip (but please do not clean dishes, dispose of food, toothpaste or use regular soaps in the stream)! In an effort to preserve the land in the state it is being given to us, we request that you do not shit in the woods - thank you. Do not put anything other than piss, shit & toilet paper in the port-a-potties. They will get clogged otherwise! Bring other items (tampons, pads, etc) to the main trash.
LEAVE NO TRACE
This is so important to us! In years past, we worked hard to leave the site in pristine condition and this year we intend to do the same. Laney and Max are acting as our LNT leads and will be available to answer questions during the weekend. Some important points:
Be conscious of MOOP (Matter Out Of Place). If you see anything on the ground that shouldn't be there, even if it doesn't belong to you, please pick it up and dispose of it appropriately.
Pack it in > Pack it out. Everything you bring with you must be brought out with you at the end of the weekend.
Smokers please bring a container for your butts and do not dispose of them in the fire or on the ground.
Bring your own reusable cup, bottle, plate & utensils
If you're bringing soap, please make sure that it is biodegradable.
Choose products that minimize plastic and packaging. We have to pack out all trash, recycling and compost!
De-Moop items before arrival by removing excess packaging, tags, bags, etc.
Be mindful of food waste and bringing only the groceries and snacks you need. We love the group snacks and fun meals–keep ‘em coming–but with a bit of planning, we can keep food waste and unnecessary packaging to a minimum.
CONSENT
We are doing our best to create a safer space over the weekend and this requires the participation of each and every guest. Violations of consent will result in immediate removal from the property.
YES means YES. Everything else means NO. Respect people's privacy and personal boundaries.
Think ahead of time - what are my boundaries? How will I state my limits? Own your "no"! Empower yourself.
Practice consent across all interactions - any kind of touch (both sexual and platonic), photography, heavy conversations, etc.
When taking photos, be aware of every person who might be in your photo and ask their consent in advance.
NATURE
Tick Checks! This area has often had high levels of ticks. Check yourself and assist friends in checking themselves (with consent, yeah?) at least 3x per day.
Bears: Though very unlikely, if you encounter a bear, stop what you are doing and evaluate the situation. Identify yourself by speaking in a calm, appeasing tone. Back away slowly, preferably in the direction you came. Walk, don't run, and keep your eye on the bear so you can see how it will react.
FIRE
No grilling, fires, or fireworks of any kind, except for the designated campfire and grill.
